Commonly Asked Questions

The Info You’re After

  • How much are your puppies?

Certain colors in Bernedoodles are rare and harder to come by, and not all breeders breed for them, so for this reason puppies are priced individually.

Puppy prices range form $2800-$3500 and includes the following:

  • DNA health tested and OFA health certified parents

  • Vaccinations and deworming appropriate for age

  • Veterinarian certified paperwork

  • 2-year Health Guarantee

  • Microchip

  • 30 days of free pet insurance through Trupanion

  • A personalized puppy beginners take home pack which will include a blanket and stuffed animal with mother and litter's scent, a couple of days supply of food, vet papers, and vaccination and deworming records...and more.

  • Lifetime breeder support for you and your family, so you can feel free to reach out any time with questions or concerns, and with total bragging rights!!  I love to see those pictures:)

There is a $300 NONREFUNDABLE deposit to reserve your spot/puppy on our waitlist.  This will be a credit applied to the purchase price, the remainder of which will be due at pick-up.

Individual puppy prices are listed with pictures of each puppy and information on our "Available Puppies" page.

  • How do I reserve a puppy?

If you see a puppy you've fallen in love with and would like to reserve him, please fill out the puppy application or contact me by email with your name, phone number, and which puppy has captured your heart. I will contact you with all your puppy's details and to arrange deposit. We accept cash, Venmo, or Paypal.

  • Can I come meet the puppies to pick one out?

Absolutely!!  We love introducing our puppies to everyone!  Please reach out through our email to set up an appointment. Also, see our "Available Puppies" page for information about scheduled open house meet and greets!

I also do Zoom meetings for our out-of-town families!

Since puppies cannot safely be fully vaccinated until 16+ weeks of age we have a protocol we ask all visitors to follow, which includes using the provided hand sanitizer and shoe covers(slippers). This is simply to protect our puppies from a number of diseases and bacteria that can be picked up anywhere and easily transmitted to the whole litter.

This is asked of every person who visits and is never personal.

Thank you for understanding.

  • How does puppy selection work?

Once puppies are born, I can schedule zoom meetings with families.

At 5-6 weeks old (I follow mommas lead and comfort level) I will start scheduling in person meet and greets and will schedule them according to spot on waitlist.

Some families will fall in love immediately with a certain puppy and choose him/her right away and will love that puppy no matter what. And their temperament testing results will be there to help them know what to expect out of their puppy...shy/outgoing, courageous and brave/apprehensive and cautious, snuggly and attached/confident and independent playful and energetic/easy-going and relaxed.

Other families will prefer to choose according to temperament and breeder's suggestion.

Either way is fine here at North Starr Puppies, but final selection must be made by 7 weeks and 1 day so each subsequent family can make their decision.

  • When can I pick my puppy up?

Puppies can go home at 8 weeks!!

I will schedule families one at time for pick up on your preferred day and time during weeks 8-9.

There will be a daily charge for any scheduled pick-ups after 10 weeks.

  • Do you offer delivery / shipment?

Yes, we do.  We offer ground shipment up to 300 miles, one of our family members will drive your puppy to you. If the distance exceeds 300 miles one of our family members will fly your pup to you. Cost TBD at time of purchase.  If you would like to fly in, to pick-up your puppy, we are willing to meet you at the Minneapolis Airport and only charge the vet cost for the necessary paperwork.

  • Can I get on your wait list for a future litter?

Of Course!  Please contact me by email to find out about all upcoming litters and discuss what works best for you and your family and find out how to get your name on the reservation list.
